Lorry recovery inside Park Royal, the largest industrial estate in Europe
Park Royal is roughly 700 hectares of food factories, bakeries, wholesalers, vehicle bodyshops, TV studios and parcel hubs squeezed between the A40 Western Avenue, the A406 North Circular and the Grand Union Canal. Something like two thousand businesses trade here, and most of them take lorries in and out through a handful of pinch points: the Hanger Lane gyratory, Abbey Road, Coronation Road, Park Royal Road and the Central Middlesex roundabout. A broken-down artic on any of them stops a great many other people’s deliveries.
K9 Recovery treats Park Royal as one of the core patches for our west London heavy units. Here is exactly what happens when you call.
📞 Call now: 07301 118118
Step one: you talk to a person
Ring 07301 118118. There is no call centre and no membership check. We ask what the vehicle is, what it weighs, what it is carrying and where it is sitting. In Park Royal, “where” matters: a lorry stuck at a bay on Coronation Road is a different job from one blocking the A40 slip at Hanger Lane.
Step two: a fixed price
You are given a clear price before the truck rolls. It covers the recovery and the tow to wherever you specify, whether that is your own yard on Abbey Road, a commercial repairer in Greenford or Wembley, or a depot in another county via our 3,000 vetted drivers nationwide.
Step three: the right heavy unit
Because London holds our largest concentration of drivers and heaviest equipment, we send a vehicle that can actually lift what you have, first time. That means:
- Rigid lorries of 7.5, 18 and 26 tonnes, including the refrigerated rigids the food wholesalers on the estate run in numbers.
- Articulated lorries up to around 30 tonnes, loaded or empty, recovered as a combination or as tractor and trailer separately.
- HIAB and crane lifts for containers behind the wholesale units, forklifts that have died on the yard, and plant on the many redevelopment sites around Old Oak.
Step four: clearing the pinch point
Hanger Lane gyratory
The gyratory is the single worst place in west London for a lorry to fail. Multi-lane, fast, with the A40 and A406 both feeding it, and no hard shoulder anywhere on the circuit. We approach from the correct arm, protect the casualty with the recovery vehicle, lift and get clear to Western Avenue or Hanger Lane itself. Speed here is about not causing a second incident.
Abbey Road, Coronation Road and Park Royal Road
These estate roads are wide but permanently lined with parked trailers and vans. A 26-tonner broken down mid-carriageway blocks everything, so we lift and move it into the nearest yard or lay-by before starting the longer tow. Our operators know which units have the room to accept a recovered lorry for an hour.
A40 Western Avenue and the North Circular
Live-lane breakdowns on the A40 between Gipsy Corner and Hanger Lane, or on the A406 at the Central Middlesex roundabout, are handled as urgent. If you are on the road rather than the estate, our London HGV recovery page explains how we manage carriageway safety.
Step five: done, and reviewed
We are fully insured, open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and hold a 4.9 out of 5 rating from more than 200 Google reviews, a fair number of them from transport managers who needed a lorry off a Park Royal road at an inconvenient hour. For anything under 3.5 tonnes across the capital, see London vehicle recovery.

Park Royal recovery: what operators ask
A lorry has stopped on the Hanger Lane gyratory itself. Should the driver try to push on?
No. If the vehicle will not move under its own power, stay in the cab with the hazards on and call us. Trying to coast or be pushed round the gyratory puts the driver and other traffic at risk. We are set up to recover from the circuit and will tell you where to expect the truck to appear from.
Our bakery runs refrigerated rigids from Park Royal every night. Can you take one with the fridge running?
Yes. Tell us whether the fridge is engine-driven or has its own power unit and we will keep the load chilled for the journey.
Can you lift a 20-foot container that has been dropped in the wrong place behind a unit on Coronation Road?
We can, with the HIAB. We will need the container weight, whether it is loaded, and the access width to the yard so we send the right crane truck.
