Confirm the SYNETIQ lot and Cat N or parts status with K9 and we book a flatbed suited to a non-runner, delivering the vehicle straight to your workshop rather than expecting it to be driven away.
Collecting a Cat N or Parts Car From SYNETIQ
SYNETIQ sells both repairable salvage and vehicles bought purely for parts, and the two need slightly different handling once you have won the lot. A Cat N car may still move under its own power with care; a car bought as a donor for parts is often not expected to run again at all. Tell K9 which applies and we book the right kind of transporter. This matters as much for cost as for safety, since booking the wrong kind of transporter for a car that turns out not to move can mean a wasted call-out.
K9 has no link to SYNETIQ; collection from their sites works the same way as from anywhere else we cover.

Repairable or Parts Only?
A Cat N vehicle has non-structural damage and, once repaired, can be returned to the road. A car bought purely for parts is not going back on the road at all, and its condition on arrival matters less than it being handled without extra risk to the transporter or driver. It is worth confirming which category applies before you commit to a repair budget, since the cost of returning a Cat N to the road can vary a great deal depending on what the report actually covers.
- Cat N repairable: worth protecting the panels and interior for the rebuild ahead
- Parts or donor vehicle: priority is safe loading, not presentation
- Either way, tell K9 whether the car starts and steers before booking
Green Parts and What That Means for Collection
SYNETIQ markets itself around recycled and reclaimed parts as well as whole salvage vehicles, and a car bought specifically as a donor is sometimes already missing components such as a bonnet, bumper or wheels by the time it reaches collection. Tell K9 what is missing so the driver arrives with the right straps and loading points rather than assuming the vehicle is complete.
Flatbeds for Cars That Will Not Start
Many parts cars have flat batteries, seized components, or missing wheels by the time they are collected. Our network includes flatbed drivers who load a vehicle that cannot roll under its own power, so a non-runner is not a reason to delay booking.
Delivered to a Workshop, Not Always Home
A repairable Cat N usually heads to wherever the rebuild is happening, and a parts car often goes straight to a dismantler or a workshop that strips it for components rather than to a private driveway.
- Repair workshop, for a Cat N going back on the road
- Dismantler or breaker’s yard, for a parts-only purchase
- Home address, if you are doing the work yourself
Release Without an MOT
Salvage and parts vehicles are released without a valid MOT, which is normal and does not affect how K9 arranges collection; the car travels on the transporter rather than under its own power on the road either way.
Booking It Straightforwardly
Confirm the SYNETIQ lot reference, the category, and whether the car moves at all, and we will get a suitable driver quoted from our network, normally confirmed the same day you call. Our non-runner transport page covers this kind of collection in more depth, the auction transport hub lists other salvage and trade houses we collect from, and our vehicle transport page covers UK-wide coverage generally.

SYNETIQ Cat N and Parts Buyer Questions
Is a Cat N car safe to drive home myself instead of using transport?
Salvage vehicles are sold without an MOT and are not legally roadworthy until repaired and re-registered correctly, so they need to travel on a transporter rather than be driven, regardless of category.
Can K9 deliver a parts car straight to my workshop?
Yes, most parts and donor vehicles go straight to a workshop or dismantling yard rather than a home address, and we deliver to either.
Does SYNETIQ release the car without an MOT?
Salvage and parts vehicles are routinely sold and released without a valid MOT; this does not affect how K9 arranges transport, since the car travels on the transporter either way.
